Dengan kontrak baru tersebut, maka Miura secara total sudah berkarier selama 36 tahun di sepakbola profesional atau sepanjang 5 dekade, dari periode 1980an hingga sekarang 2021.
Dengan catatan itu, jelaslah dia pesepakbola tertua yang masih aktif bermain di top level sepakbola.
"Musim lalu saya merasakan kegembiraan bermain sepakbola pada saat dunia sedang menghadapi situasi yang sulit karena virus corona baru," kata Miura yang dikutip dari Sportbible.
"Secara pribadi itu bukan musim yang memuaskan, tetapi ambisi dan antusiasme saya terhadap sepak bola meningkat. Saya akan bekerja keras setiap hari, bertujuan untuk berkontribusi pada kemenangan tim musim ini dengan memainkan pertandingan sebanyak mungkin."
